Switching of magnon parametric oscillation by magnetic field direction

Abstract Parametric oscillation occurs when the resonance frequency of an oscillator is periodically modulated. Owing to time-reversal symmetry breaking in magnets, nonreciprocal magnons can be parametrically excited spatial-inversion provided. This means that with opposite propagation directions have different amplitudes. Here we demonstrate switching on and off magnon parametric by reversing external field direction applied a Y 3 Fe 5 O 12 micro-structured film. The result originates from nonreciprocity surface mode magnons, leading field-direction dependence accumulation under nonuniform microwave pumping. Our numerical calculation well reproduces experimental result.
